Emmanuel University Communication Department

Communication degrees at Emmanuel are designed to prepare students for careers as Christian communicators who integrate faith, learning and living where they work and serve. By allowing students to choose between Organizational Communication, Digital Media Production, Sports Communication and the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree options, students can focus their academic curriculum around their career goals.

The Communication Department is a community of faculty and students that God has brought together in a unique learning environment rich in academia and practical application.

EU’s Graphic Design major is designed to equip our students with the skills needed to work professionally upon graduation. To that end, we offer our students the same software and hardware professionals use in the field to create their projects here at Emmanuel.

Department Details

We believe in interactive collaboration in the learning process. Communication students are actively involved with the faculty in their education. Classes blend instruction, discussion, exercises and current technology to engage today’s student. Hands-on training with professional-grade equipment begins in freshman-level courses and workshops in order to develop skills early, resulting in a stronger senior project and portfolio upon graduation. An internship requirement provides an important opportunity for students to utilize learned skills in a real-world setting while creating contacts for future employment.

If you feel God is calling you to a career in communication, we hope you will join us as we seek to live out our motto: “Impacting the World. For Christ. Through Media.”

Communication graduates value and practice ethical use of media and respect for others. Utilizing their ability to adapt to various audiences in different settings and purposes, our graduates are able to speak clearly the intended message. Relying on creativity and technology, their ability to work effectively in groups or independently to solve problems is essential in today’s workplace and as life-long learners.
