Job Description

Emmanuel University, located in northeast Georgia, is accepting applications for a full-time Assistant Director of Online Enrollment.

Position Overview

The primary role of the Assistant Director of Online Enrollment is to recruit and support online students within fully online undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Individuals in this role should be a passionate advocate for online students and provide timely, positive, and supportive service. 

The Assistant Director works within the Enrollment division, reporting to the Director of Enrollment, and works in collaboration with the Director of Distance Learning. 

The Assistant Director of Online Enrollment is expected to:

  • Engage in intentional and continuous efforts to improve recruitment of new students who are a good fit for the online program through travel and consistent, timely communication. 
  • Track and project student enrollment, degree plan, and degree progression.
  • Discuss academic progress as it relates to degree requirements and student interests.
  • Communicate effectively with prospective students throughout the admissions process
  • Engage in intentional and continuous efforts to improve service to and coaching of students, which includes improving internal processes, procedures, resources and published content.
  • Demonstrate a high level of maturity and independent judgment when working with various constituencies to analyze and evaluate the needs of the student, accurately assess the situation, determine appropriate information and referrals, exercise discretion to resolve issues, and tailor the message to fit each unique situation.

And, you must have the demonstrated ability to:

  • Persuade and motivate others to pursue action.
  • Perform in a manner that is reliable, dedicated, productive and exhibits strong self-initiative.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Handle difficult and sensitive situations, using sound, independent judgment within general policy and legal guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree preferred but a minimum of bachelor’s degree in appropriate field from an accredited college or university.
  • Two (2) years relevant experience supporting or advising online learners.
  • Experience providing academic advising in a higher education environment.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • A valid driver’s license with no restrictions and the ability to travel.

Responsibilities

Represent Emmanuel University:

  • Serve as the face of Emmanuel University to prospective students, including commuters, transfers, international students, and traditional undergraduates.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by establishing personal connections with prospective students, applicants, and enrolled students through telephone communication.

Outreach and Communication:

  • Conduct outbound phone calls to prospective students who have expressed interest in Emmanuel University.
  • Answer inbound calls and provide information on admissions processes, enrollment, and post-enrollment inquiries.
  • Address admissions-related questions and provide guidance on program fit, admissions requirements, financial aid, and transfer guidelines.
  • Respond to emails, texts, and phone calls from applicants.

Recruitment and Events:

  • Coordinate and participate in admissions and recruitment events.
  • Assist with various aspects of the inquiry, application, and enrollment process during peak times.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; a minimum of two years of experience in student recruitment/sales is preferred.
  • Strong organizational abilities, excellent written and oral communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work a schedule that may include days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software; experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, Student Information Systems (SIS), and Canvas is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions, and collaborate effectively with a team.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Emmanuel University, including a Christian witness and faith integration.

Preferred Job Skills

  • Prior experience in university admissions and recruitment.
  • Knowledge of marketing and sales strategies.
  • Familiarity with campus activities and trends in higher education.
  • A clean driving record

Job Expectations

  • Enrollment Specialists are expected to spend at least 50% of their time on the road.
  • The job may require working outside traditional office hours.
  • Travel to various areas, including churches, high schools, and fairs, is an essential part of the role.
  • A fleet vehicle will be provided for recruiting events, subject to availability and restrictions.

Benefits and Compensation

This position is paid on a bi-weekly salary basis at the rate established by Emmanuel University. Detailed information regarding compensation and benefits is provided during the interview.
