NCAA DII, Emmanuel Athletics Partner with Make-A-Wish Foundation!
Through their membership in NCAA Division II, Emmanuel Athletics is thrilled to continue their partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Make-A-Wish partnership has been an ongoing initiative begun by members of the NCAA DII National SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) for several years.
The SAAC is comprised of 28 members from institutions across the country that get together to discuss topics that affect the student-athletes enrolled in NCAA Division II institutions.
Here on Emmanuel’s campus, the Athletic Department recently completed their “Week of Wishes,” in which they hosted several fundraising events for Make-A-Wish.
“We did star sales and passed around jars at different sporting events,” said Associate Athletic Director for Compliance, Bridget Allen. “We hosted Swishes for Wishes, a halftime event at a Basketball game, a Bump, Wish, Spike event at a Volleyball game, a Pie in the Face Contest, Blue Day, and Gaming Tournament.”
The Week of Wishes events raised $458.54 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Outside of the Week of Wishes, the Athletic Department has fundraised for Make-A-Wish at the high school Basketball regional tournament games hosted on campus and at the Lions conference matchup against Barton which was aired on ESPN3 at the end of January.
Overall, EC Athletics has raised $1,026.86 for Make-A-Wish Foundation and that amount is only continuing to grow!
