Job Description
Emmanuel University invites applicants for the position of Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach. Reporting to the Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach, this is a full-time position, responsible for assisting in all facets of the program. These duties include but are not limited to, identifying, and recruiting qualified prospective student athletes, the academic and athletic development of the current student-athletes, scheduling, budget management, equipment ordering and inventory, along with public relations. Assist in arranging all aspects scheduling, team travel and team operations. Participate in community, campus, and departmental initiatives when appropriate.
Emmanuel University is a NCAA Division II program and a member of the Conference Carolina conference. Also, be committed to compliance with the NCAA, Conference Carolina, and Emmanuel University regulations.
Essential Functions in Assisting the Head Coach:
- Conduct programs in accordance with the NCAA regulations, Conference Carolinas guidelines, and within the philosophy of Emmanuel University.
- Provide a positive atmosphere that promotes a sense of fairness, organization, commitment, motivation, accomplishment, and fun.
- Accept responsibility for the behavior of the team during practices, contests, and any other team related activities.
- Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Teach, assist, and instruct aspects of strength and conditioning.
- Teach, assist, and instruct aspects of nutrition.
- Teach, assist, and instruct aspects of player development.
- Teach, assist, and instruct aspects of achieving high academic performance.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends, with extensive travel
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
Secondary Functions in Assisting the Head Coach
- Stay current concerning rule changes, training techniques, and game strategies in their respective sports.
- Keep accurate records of student-athlete participation, and general team data.
- Commitment to working with a diverse student body, staff and other constituents
- Experience with software/online programs related to game film (i.e. Hudl, Sports Recruits, etc.) and roster management (e.g. ARMS) preferred
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited institution. NCAA experience preferred. The candidate must be self-motivated and should articulate the mission of the institution, organize and motivate people.
