Kemmerer, Jesse

Jesse grew up in Travelers Rest, SC and graduated from Emmanuel College in 2015 with a degree in Health and Physical Education. He then followed God’s call to work for a Christian summer camp named Eagle Lake Camps out in Colorado Springs, CO for 4 years. In 2019, God called Jesse back to the south. Jesse moved to Athens, GA with is wife, Amelia, to start teaching physical education and coaching cross country. After COVID hit, Jesse took a break from teaching, but kept coaching, and picked up a landscaping job. It was then that he felt led to pursue a master’s in Exercise Science from the University of North Georgia which allowed him to step into his role as the graduate program coordinator for this program. Jesse will also be teaching undergraduate courses in the Kinesiology department and coaching the men’s and women’s cross country team.

Jesse’s life verse is Proverbs 19:21, “Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.” Jesse enjoys everything outdoors including sports, especially ultimate frisbee, hiking, and camping. He enjoys running, cycling, swimming, and working out to stay active and fit. He and his wife, Amelia, have been married since October 2018, and they celebrated the birth of their first daughter, Josephine (aka Josie) in July 2023. They enjoy playing music together, reading books, and cooking. They are active members of Liberty Baptist Church in Carnesville, GA.
