Head Athletic Trainer & Instructor
Sandy joins the Staff /Faculty as a Head Athletic Trainer and Instructor in the Kinesiology Department. She has worked in the Sports Medicine Profession for 15+ years with experience in the Division I & II collegiate setting, clinical sports Medicine/physical therapy setting, high school (3A &4A) setting and development and implemented a comprehensive wellness program for Elbert Memorial Hospital (Elberton, G.A.). In addition, Sandy also pioneered the first Athletic Training Program for Elbert County Comprehensive High School (1992-2008). Her passion lies in the clinical assessment of athletic injuries, and managing therapeutic and rehabilitation programs. She also has a passion for development and growth of new programs.
Sandy served as the first certified athletic trainer in the Greenville County School District (1990-1992) at Hillcrest High School teaching Health and Physical Education, serving as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach, Head softball coach, and Head Athletic Trainer. Sandy was inducted into the Catawba College Sports Medicine Hall of Fame and information was published in the National Athletic Training Publication in May, 2015. In 2017, Sandy was inducted into the Woodmont High School Student Athlete Hall of Fame.
Sandy is married to Dr. Eddie Campbell DMD,FAGD and has two daughters Taylor and Maggie. They live in Elberton, G.A.

Sandy has a B.A. degree from Catawba College in Health/P.E. (1987). She also was one of the first students to enter the Sports Medicine Studies at Catawba receiving a minor in athletic training. She received a M.A. form Furman University (1990) where she was a Graduate Assistant in the sports medicine program and again, was one of the beginning graduate students entering their Exercise Science Studies. Sandy enjoys spending time with her family and is a “fitness enthusiast”.
