Emmanuel Registrar Receives 2022 Vulcan Teaching Excellence Award!

Emmanuel College was thrilled to recognize Ms. Debra Grizzle with the 2022 Vulcan Teaching Excellence Award on May 7, 2022, at Emmanuel’s Spring Commencement ceremony.

Established in 1991, the Vulcan Teaching Excellence Awards honor an outstanding professor on selected member campuses of the Georgia Independent College Association. The annual award is presented to a member of the faculty in recognition of excellence in teaching, commitment to student success, and leadership to enhance the campus community.

Debra has served Emmanuel for 44 years and currently serves as the college’s Registrar. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Emmanuel College and her Master of College and Student Affairs from Azusa Pacific University.

“Debra has faithfully served Emmanuel College for over 4 decades, most of it in the Registrar’s office,” said Vice President for Academics, Dr. Janet Coleman. “She assists the faculty regularly when courses, programs, and schedules are developed and/or tweaked as no one knows the curriculum better. Our students rely on her for advice, schedule planning, and timely progression through college. Vulcan’s award criteria states, The recipients are faculty who assist the institutions in nurturing an academic climate which fosters teaching and who provide leadership to enhance the campus community. I can’t imagine anyone who better embodies this statement than Debra.”

Congratulations, Debra! Thank you for all that you do for Emmanuel.
