Emmanuel Holds 73rd Annual Vision 4 Education
On March 18, Emmanuel welcomed leaders from the International Pentecostal Holiness Church Women’s Ministries Department for the 73rd annual Vision 4 Education (formerly Feast of Ingathering). The ladies presented Emmanuel with a generous offering of $34,884.61. This event represents years of commitment and hard work by the Women’s Ministries Department to help provide scholarships for students to pursue a Christ-centered education at Emmanuel College.
“The ladies of the Women’s Ministries of the IPHC have been so faithful in their support of Emmanuel College,” said President, Dr. Ron White. “The gifts from the various conferences and churches make a huge difference in the resources provided for students. It is always a joy to host this event and welcome so many friends of the College to our campus.”
Whitney Davis, Director of Women’s Ministries shared with the group what she finds special about the event.
“A lot has changed in the more than 70 years that we’ve partnered with Emmanuel College for fundraising,” she said. “But, one thing has remained the same, and that’s the joy of seeing the next generation of leaders raised up to change the world with the gospel of Jesus.”
Joining Davis were Tammy Porter (Appalachian Conference), Nancy Rogers (LifePoint Ministries), Lynn Hood (South Carolina Conference), and Glenda Shank (South Carolina Conference).
EC sophomore Jordan Wallum spoke to the audience on how she has grown as a Christian and a leader at Emmanuel with the help of mentors who pour into her life daily.
“We are blessed to have mentors and friends in our faculty and staff,” she said. “We don’t just have guidance and conviction and authority, but we have people who genuinely care and love us.”
Alongside his sister Makenzie (Emmanuel freshman), and mother, Danielle (EC alum ’89, ’95), Emmanuel senior, Dylan Maynor shared about his journey to Emmanuel.
As Dylan looks forward to graduating this spring, he reflected on his time at Emmanuel and how his time at the college impacted his life.
“I had some fantastic opportunities in my lifetime because of Emmanuel College,” Dylan said. “But the best thing that Emmanuel has ever done for me is allow me to sit around the table weekly with some of the best and brightest young people in our denomination and in the church that I know are going to change the world for Jesus Christ.”
Thank you, Women’s Ministry Team, for your continued generosity and prayer over Emmanuel College.
