What is EC MISSION?
EC MISSION is an opportunity for alumni & friends of Emmanuel to express in practical ways their gratitude for the impact Emmanuel made in their lives!
EC MISSION was founded in 2017 by EC alumnus, Barry Wood ’71, as an opportunity for alumni to come together and invest their talents, skills, and time to take part in renovation and beautification projects on the Emmanuel campus.
“My experience with Emmanuel has been priceless! Emmanuel has giving me several lifelong close friends and a wife who has put up with me for 50 years this August,” said Barry. “I worked for Emmanuel in the late 90’s early 2000’s and know how hard staff and faculty work to make a difference in students’ lives. So, when I retired, I had time to give back to an institution that has made a big impact on myself and thousands of others. I love to build and fix things and solve problems. Working with EC MISSION is a perfect way to do what I love for an institution that I love!”
Since its start, the EC MISSION volunteers have put in over 1,650 hours renovating office space and classrooms, deep cleaning and updating residence halls, and so much more. In 2019 alone, the volunteers put in over 300 hours of work in a two-week’s time.
