Head Coach, Allen Gilchrest, commented; “Alex was a Senior at the 2020 NCAA national championships, getting ready to defend his national title, when the covid pandemic reached the United States and the NCAA Championships were canceled. I had to tell Alex his college swimming career was over. Alex quickly turned his attention to the Tokyo Olympics, which were soon postponed to 2021. Alex could easily have hung up his goggles and retired from swimming, but he persevered, continued to train, and has accomplished amazing results!” GO LIONS!
