Job Description
The History Department of Emmanuel College invites applications for a full-time faculty position teaching
History beginning with the Fall Semester of 2025. Candidates should expect to teach courses in both
general history survey courses and upper level courses within the history major.
Emmanuel University is a coeducational liberal arts college of 900+ undergraduate students nestled in the hills of northeast Georgia. The candidate will be required to demonstrate an ability to effectively teach undergraduate students and must be a committed Christian who can identify and adhere to the mission of the institution.
The university offers a major and a minor in history and, within the School of Education, degrees in
secondary and middle grades history/social and behavioral sciences.
Salary & Benefits: Salary is commensurate with degree and experience. Benefits include, but are not

Faculty Qualifications: A Ph.D. in a European or World history field from an accredited institution is
preferred, with an added preference in being able to teach political science. A minimum of a master’s
degree with advanced study in a European or World history field from an accredited institution, including
at least 18 hours of graduate-level History, is required. Applicants must have the ability to meet Southern
Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requirements, in particular a
minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.

membership, and current church involvements.
