Why a Degree in Agriculture?
Emmanuel’s Agriculture Department offers students the opportunity to explore, gain hands on experiences, and develop into agriculture leaders and contributors to the number one industry in the state of Georgia-Agriculture. Agribusiness has an economic impact of over $70 billion dollars in Georgia and even more in surrounding states. Sixteen percent of Georgia’s employment base is in Agriculture. Our degree program in the field of Agriculture helps students form partnerships with Agriculture professionals, develop networking opportunities with agricultural policy makers, and secure potential employment opportunities through internships. There are over 235 different jobs in the agriculture industry and our Diversified degree will enable students to be eligible for over 150 them.
Emmanuel University is one of the few universities in the United States to offer this unique degree. The 45-acre Diversified Agriculture Teaching and Learning Center on campus houses numerous opportunities for our students to gain experience in:
- Greenhouse Operation
- Aquaculture and Aquaponics
- Livestock and Poultry Management

Each of our graduates are required to complete an agriculture internship, research project, and agriculture service activity. Our goal is that students will have the hands on knowledge of agriculture production to supplement an outstanding academic program and become industry leaders.
