Emmanuel Announces Community Grant Program for Non-traditional Students

Emmanuel College is thrilled to announce that beginning in fall 2023, students aged 27 years and older from our surrounding area will be eligible to receive the Community Grant that provides a 50% tuition reduction.

To qualify, students must:

  • be in pursuit of a first undergraduate degree (applicants may already have course credit or an associate degree).
  • not be currently enrolled in college in pursuit of a degree when turning 27.
  • be a resident of one of the following counties in GA or SC:
    • Franklin County
    • Madison County
    • Stephens County
    • Elbert County
    • Hart County
    • Banks County
    • Clarke County
    • Oconee County
    • Oglethorpe County
    • Jackson County
    • Habersham County
    • Anderson County, SC
  • after acceptance, enroll in at least 3 hours per semester in an on-site program at the Emmanuel campus.

As previously mentioned, this grant program provides a 50% tuition reduction for non-traditional students that want to begin or complete an undergraduate degree on campus at Emmanuel College during fall and spring semesters. It does not affect any additional state or federal financial aid that the student may receive. Students are eligible to continue receipt of the discounted tuition by maintaining a 2.0 GPA.

“We are excited to offer this opportunity to help older students complete a college degree,” states Dean of Academics Jennifer Benson. “There are so many reasons why people do not go to college right away or may not be able to finish their college degree when they are younger. We want to help the people in the communities that our faculty and staff call home to get the benefit of a degree from Emmanuel College.”
