EC Serve Travels to Costa Rica

Emmanuel College’s Costa Rica Missions Team is extremely excited to be serving in Santa Ana, Costa Rica, May 8-16, 2018. The team will be traveling alongside Max Barroso and a group from The Awakening, a department of IPHC World Missions and Ministries.  This year’s team leaders include Mandy Lester, Josh Hafner, and Becki Hilley.

The group will include six Emmanuel students – Alicia Phillips, Anna Trotsenko, Hannah Powell, Brandi Nash, Daulton Corbett and Alyssa Womack. While there, the group will focus on sharing the love of Christ while conducting various service projects, children’s ministry skits, worship, evangelization, and preaching.

“We hope to be a great asset to the local leadership,” Mandy said. “We hope to serve with love and selflessness, to minister to the broken, to love the unloved, and see souls saved.”

Mandy also hopes the team will be broken in beautiful places themselves and to experience God in new ways through this trip.  In her first year as Emmanuel’s Director of Campus Life, Mandy was excited to step in and fill the leadership role.  This team fundraised for their trip through a Boston Butt fundraiser and each member sending out support letters.

“How can we at home pray for this team as they serve God’s kingdom? I would ask that you pray for this team like you would if we were your children, or mothers, or wives, or husbands,” Mandy said. “Cover us with prayer in every way you are led to!”

To make a donation to the Costa Rica team’s trip, you can give your donation to one of the team members listed above or drop it off at the Emmanuel College Cashier’s Office with “Costa Rica Mission Trip” designated.
